What's the difference between nudity, sexuality and porn?

I fully agree with your point of view, and I'm facing the same problem here.  It seems to be a tradition in some areas of the world to wrongly treat any nudity and sexuality as pornography too.  Unlike you and me, many people are unable to differentiate here.  And for some taggers and moderators the porn category seems to serve as a catch-all for anthing someone may not like.

See the definition of the categories here: http://community.opendns.com/domaintagging/categories

What you can do is to open a support ticket with your list of domains to get the wrong category Pornography removed from them. You can also flag the related domains for review, e.g. http://domain.opendns.com/bonjourmadame.fr - but this may take long or forever.

"The funny thing is that, according to OpenDNS: "www.domai.com" is porn"

This is not true: http://domain.opendns.com/domai.com - category pornography was rejected for this.  But the others you mention are true.

Hi rotblitz, thanks for your answer (and merry Xmas)!

Yes, I had seen the "official" definitions of the categories, and was disappointed.

    • "Pornography is anything relating to pornography…", including mild, soft and hard porn. This is quite a wide definition, and OK, why not. My trouble is: it doesn't state what pornography is. Nor does it say what isn't pornography. It's this lack that the censors/puritans are using.
    • "Sexuality is (sites that provide) information, images or implications of bondage, sadism, masochism, fetish, beating, body piercing or self-mutilation" but not LGBT. OK, it's clear. Wait no, it isn't! What about plain good old sexuality? You know: a man on a woman, and the camera goes up in the skies. It's not sexuality? Seems no. OK, but if If not sexuality, what the f… is it?
    • As I was fed up with sexual themes, I decided to explore other themes. that's how I discovered that the "nra.org" site is not about weapons. It's about sports, politics and non-profits, but weapons was rejected five years ago. I'm still laughing…

Most certainly, the OpenDNS tagging community is deeply asleep and some censors/puritans have decided they could redraw the border lines.Too bad.

I've already flagged the disputed domains, without any real hope. I will follow your suggestion to open a support ticket. Without any real hope: I have the auwfull feeling of being one of the Daughters of Danaus. As you've said: porn is a catch-all. It's a new and funny definition of porn. You've made me laugh, thank you!

Oh no, you can hope.  Domai and a bunch of others I was monitoring are good examples that this is the right way to go.  They got the wrong category "Pornography" not only removed, but rejected in between, so they cannot be tagged with this category ever again.

I have submitted a ticket too, and it has been processed with my great satisfaction.  The Pornography tag has been removed from many domains being Nudity etc only.  My whitelist is nearly empty now.
