What's the difference between nudity, sexuality and porn?
I'm afraid to start an already lost battle, but at least i'll have tried. So, let's go!
I'm using a Netgear router to restrict my kids (12 and 14) from accessing porn. I authorise nudity and adult themes on my LAN, but not porn. I will not detail the why here, it's a long and difficult discussion, and it's not the question here. So please accept it as it is: nudity and sexuality are OK, porn is (definitively) not. If you are shocked, sorry…
On my Netgear parental controls, I've blocked the "porn" things and left others open. My trouble is: too many sites are categorized as "porn" when they aren't. In my point of view, this is stupidity, puritanism and completely unproductive… Let's take three examples.
1) "bonjourmadame.fr" shows a daily naked girl. The picture are nice looking, the girls too. There is no sexual description, no sexual situation. Just a (half) naked girl. Presently, it is categorized as "porn".
2) "www.domai.com" also shows a daily naked girl. It is more sexual than "bonjourmadame" but still very nice. The funny thing is that, according to OpenDNS: "www.domai.com" is porn, but "domai.com" is not. If you understand, please tell me…
3) "www.dailymotion.com" is also categorized as porn on OpenDNS. Dailymotion tries to be an alternative to Youtube. It's not perfect, it most certainly uses naked girls to attract readers, but it's definitively not a porn provider… Neither is Youtube!
So, what's the trouble? Are all naked girls systematicly tagged as "porn"? Is it just ordinary puritanism? Do people really believe that naked means dirty? (No, please don't answer to this last question, it was pure theoretic!). Whatever, the actual system on OpenDNS is not satisfactory. It needs a clear difference between nudity, sexuality and porn. And it doesn't need any king of overtagging…
I suggest:
- Nudity: you can see nude humans (parts), including nude genitals, without sexual intentions.
- Sexuality: partial or total representation of humans engaged in sexual activity intending to explain how it works (double intention allowed).
- Porn: specific representation of sexual parts or sexual actions of human bodies intending to arouse your level of sexual excitement.
Presently, I didn't saw any clear rule. Mine is not perfect, please improve it.

I fully agree with your point of view, and I'm facing the same problem here. It seems to be a tradition in some areas of the world to wrongly treat any nudity and sexuality as pornography too. Unlike you and me, many people are unable to differentiate here. And for some taggers and moderators the porn category seems to serve as a catch-all for anthing someone may not like.
See the definition of the categories here: http://community.opendns.com/domaintagging/categories
What you can do is to open a support ticket with your list of domains to get the wrong category Pornography removed from them. You can also flag the related domains for review, e.g. http://domain.opendns.com/bonjourmadame.fr - but this may take long or forever.
"The funny thing is that, according to OpenDNS: "www.domai.com" is porn"
This is not true: http://domain.opendns.com/domai.com - category pornography was rejected for this. But the others you mention are true.

Hi rotblitz, thanks for your answer (and merry Xmas)!
Yes, I had seen the "official" definitions of the categories, and was disappointed.
- "Pornography is anything relating to pornography…", including mild, soft and hard porn. This is quite a wide definition, and OK, why not. My trouble is: it doesn't state what pornography is. Nor does it say what isn't pornography. It's this lack that the censors/puritans are using.
- "Sexuality is (sites that provide) information, images or implications of bondage, sadism, masochism, fetish, beating, body piercing or self-mutilation" but not LGBT. OK, it's clear. Wait no, it isn't! What about plain good old sexuality? You know: a man on a woman, and the camera goes up in the skies. It's not sexuality? Seems no. OK, but if If not sexuality, what the f… is it?
- As I was fed up with sexual themes, I decided to explore other themes. that's how I discovered that the "nra.org" site is not about weapons. It's about sports, politics and non-profits, but weapons was rejected five years ago. I'm still laughing…
Most certainly, the OpenDNS tagging community is deeply asleep and some censors/puritans have decided they could redraw the border lines.Too bad.
I've already flagged the disputed domains, without any real hope. I will follow your suggestion to open a support ticket. Without any real hope: I have the auwfull feeling of being one of the Daughters of Danaus. As you've said: porn is a catch-all. It's a new and funny definition of porn. You've made me laugh, thank you!

"I will follow your suggestion to open a support ticket. Without any real hope"
Oh no, you can hope. Domai and a bunch of others I was monitoring are good examples that this is the right way to go. They got the wrong category "Pornography" not only removed, but rejected in between, so they cannot be tagged with this category ever again.
