video chat blocking

I have my Netgear live parental controls set to high filtering atfter 12 a.m., but I still catch my child video-chatting late at night (not sure of it is Skype or Facetime). Can I block these apps through Netgear and, if so, what do I need to do?

  You may want to double check that "Chat" is blocked. Also check if your child is using a cellular (3g) connection. If the latter, there is little you can do.

  I have been trying to use the parental controls to minimize chatting online, and it doesn't seem to work very well.  I have an iPod Touch of my own, and even when I block social networking and chat, it still is able to be used for the Facebook messenger.  iPods do not have cellular service, so that is NOT the issue.

  If it's FaceTime, you can block it by blacklisting the following sites:

  www.apple.com

  Do note: After blocking this site, access to the App Store will be restricted.

  If it's Skype then I'm afraid I'm not sure.
