filter set on High but youtube still works
I have my filter level set on high but youtube still works. the only way to block it is to add it to the blacklist. i thought that youtube would be automatically banned on the high setting as the instructional video stated. thx in advance.

That's right. YouTube is Video Sharing which is being blocked with "high" filtering.
Your problem must be something different.
- Using OpenDNS at all? http://welcome.opendns.com/
- Is your correct IP address registered? https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
- Did you flush your caches?

Just seeing that you posted under "Netgear Live Parental Controls". In case you have LPC enabled, forget about the 2nd check above, but the first and 3rd check are still valid. Your dashboard is only at https://netgear.opendns.com/, and LPC does not require your IP address information being registered with OpenDNS.
Even more, normal OpenDNS Home is incompatible with LPC, so delete a possibly existing network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/, else this may be the reason why blocking doesn't work for you.
"as the instructional video stated"
Does Netgear LPC have an instructional video? Rather not...

I think the instructional video being referred is http://content.webcollage.net/apps/cs/mini-site/netgear/module/netgear/wcpc/parental-controls/tab/demo?channel-product-id=&enable-reporting=true&showtabs=&suppress-site-prefs=&wc-target=&from-pp= off of the LPC website http://netgear.com/lpc.
Based on your filtering settings Youtube should be blocked without adding it to the blacklist. I do notice that you have bypass accounts configured. These bypass accounts don't have filtering associated with them but the blacklist would still apply to them, which may explain why youtube.com is only blocked when you add it to your blacklist. Please make sure you are not logged into any bypass accounts through Netgear Genie on your device, clear your caches, and retest Youtube access.
