After upgrading my device to the latest firmware. I went to enable LPC. It worked great !! Once i wanted to bypass it. I install the netgear genie . It wont recognize my router with the firmware upgrade as being an acceptable device for LPC configuration. Only way to Turn the setting off was via an android device or resetting the router to factory defaults.  

 

Is this a known issue ?

  You would need to let us know which model router you have and what the firmware on it is.

  Well not sure what version it upgrades you too. I am currently running the default. Firmware Version 
  V1.0.3.80_1.1.38 on a R7000 . So which ever version is the next step from here once you run the update from with in the web interface. The upgraded version did not work any long with the genie . This seems more like a Netgear issue then open dns though. .

  Yes, software working with a router is the manufactuer's issue rather than an OpenDNS issue.

  You can search through these threads, but there is reference to older netgear routers not working with the genie software and needing an older generation of the software so you should look into that.
