I have a WNDR4500 router with the newest revision of software available from Netgear on the device.
However, I would love to see a field added to the device to make it simple to cross-reference material. Because I have multiple devices connected to the router it would be highly beneficial to be able to use a blank field to put in names or another tidbit of information that would be highly useful for any user.
If I see MAC Address 70:73:CB:00:00:01 listed along with MAC Address 70:73:CB:00:00:02 listed, I have a very difficult time being able to distinguish between both devices. I know that both devices are 'Apple' devices (I can perform a MAC Address lookup and see that any device starting with 70:73:CB is an Apple product). I want to be able to see a difference within the software that lets me identify the product type by its MAC Address along with some specifics that I use to name the product. IE., if I know that the MAC 70:73:CB:00:00:01 is an Apple iTouch and the MAC 70:73:CB:00:00:02 is an Apple Macintosh, I should be able to show this simply by naming it within the software. If I could type something on the same line as the MAC Address for the product, this would resolve this issue.
Is there a way that this type of simple feature can be added to the next firmware release?
