Time based blocking for LPC is possible only for categories of domains, not for individual domains.

However, time based blocking is available with certain Netgear router models, outside of LPC.
    See e.g. http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20483/ or http://documentation.netgear.com/fvs336g/enu/202-10257-01/pdfs/FullManual.pdf or http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24053/

"the whitelist/backlist feature on Opendns overrides the filter rules"

Oops, this sounds like a mistake.  The LPC dashboard at https://netgear.opendns.com/ does not have whitelist/blacklist features.  And you must not use normal OpenDNS Home at the same time as Netgear LPC, because these are incompatible.  So, what "whitelist/blacklist feature on Opendns" are you talking about?

In fact Netgear LPC dashboard has support for whitelist/blacklist, it is only visible when click on typo exceptions link. One of the frustration I have is that I wanted to block my kids from accessing youtube via apps on tablets or web on a per schedule basis. However, whitelist/blacklist overrides the schedule and block permanently. For example googlevideo.com, categorized in search engine domain is one of the main site youtube app uses but I can't be blocking the search engine domain just for that.

My wishlist will be that OpenDNS will support for individual domain/url block within a custom filter rule as most of the cases, blocking a domain is far too destructive.
