confused as hell, when I am on step 11 and refer to my screen 'live parental controls' it looks the same except there is no button "add a bypass account' on the top right corner. So all I want form singning in to openDNS and Netgear genie is to limit the time my kids spend on the internet, but I simply can't get it to work....thank you

Then configure it at https://netgear.opendns.com/ instead of via Genie.

"So all I want form singning in to openDNS and Netgear genie is to limit the time my kids spend on the internet"

Fine, easy.  So configure the time schedule ("Add a time block") for the default settings, and create a bypass account just for you without time blocks to not be bound to your default settings.  What's so difficult?

OK, Im having similar problems and I'm not an idiot. the bypass account is not working,

    1. created bypass account
    2. created loosened restrictions(none)
    3. created timeperiod (also tried all times)
    4. logged into bypass account
    5. default restrictions still apply

Then copy & paste the complete plain text output of the following command here when you're logged in to the bypass account:

       nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.

It seems you're using normal OpenDNS Home and Netgear LPC in parallel.  This does not work as the two services are incompatible.  To rectify this you'll want to visit https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ to delete the network there.  Your LPC dashboard is only at https://netgear.opendns.com/

If you don't have a network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ then you need to raise a ticket with OpenDNS, because staff must look into your account.

You open a support ticket with OpenDNS.
