OpenDNS as DNS service can block domains only, not "content" like a specific URL, webpages, videos or images.  A domain must be categorized as e.g. Nudity to be blocked in case you have this category selected for blocking.  With OpenDNS you can normally block YouTube or Vimeo as a whole only.

If you want to have more granular content filtering, you'll have to use the providers' own filtering systems.

    YouTube (Google) offers Restricted Mode:

    Vimeo offers Content Filter Preferences:

"Also is there a way to block videos but not block youtube?"

Why would you visit YouTube if not because of watching videos?  No matter, it seems that they host the videos almost on youtu.be and s.ytimg.com, so adding these domains to your "always block" list could do the trick.  Or did you mean something different?

There is a free extension/plugin for Chrome and Firefox which allows "intelligent" blocking of nudity/mature content on Vimeo, even when in incognito mode (you first need to enable the extension to be active in incognito in the settings). it's called vRate and it works pretty well!

Why do you still respond to a 3 years old question?  Is this rather advertisement and therefore spam?  (Anything off-topic not related to OpenDNS can be treated as spam.)

Also, this browser extension is not yet available for FireFox, just for Chrome.

No, it's not spam/advertising - I have personally found it useful so I posted it because it's a topic that I did not find any satisfactory solution to until now, so I hoped that my finding would be useful to somebody else.

I use Chrome, I did a quick check on the website and it seems to say they support Firefox but perhaps that's not the case. it seems to block offensive content on Tumblr quite successfully too.

I use open DNS to block adult sites but it doesn't not block mature/nudity on Vimeo (some videos are not rated/flagged as mature and are publicly visible).

As I said in my first comment above already, OpenDNS as DNS service can block domains only, so if you wanted to block it with OpenDNS, you had to add vimeo.com or maybe vimeocdn.com to your "always block" list, because this is where they host their videos.  A DNS service doesn't know what a DNS query was good for, if it was for web content like a picture, video or page, or a mail server, or what else.

Yes, I understand that. But I use Vimeo professionally on a daily basis, so blocking it outright is not an option. But blocking offensive content on it is preferable to me, hence the need for a highly specific solution.
