Cisco Acquired OpenDNS - Are there any plans for live parental controls to come to Cisco routers?

    Cisco hasn't owned the Linksys product line for several years. I'm not sure most Linksys, or Linksys-Cicco branded routers have sufficient hardware horsepower to support the additional workloads of that software, plus someone would have to pay the money for the necessary software development. I don't see Cisco doing that for a line of hardware they no longer own or control unless someone came to them with checkbook in hand.

    Hi Tim, sorry @mattwilson is correct. Cisco hasn't owned Linksys for some time so the future of parental controls going to Linksys routers is unknown. As for Parental controls going to Cisco routers, to my knowledge there are no plans in the near future, but you can suggest this availability here if this is something you would like to see.

    Regarding mattwilson9080's comment, I didn't think Live Parental Controls required much additional processing power, only the ability to change the DNS server to OpenDNS and to notify the OpenDNS servers that a Netgear device was managing the netowrk.
