seeing no filtering
I recently installed a NetGear router to a CenturyLink Actiontec C1000A modem in hopes that I could use OpenDNS and the router to provide filtering. (I know OpenDNS does not work with the C1000A modem.) I do not see any filtering taking place. I searched and typed in victoria's secret and went to the website.
Netgear genie from my desktop indicates under status the Live Parental Controls are enabled, the level is custom, account name.
However routerlogin.net indicates Parental controls status: Not supported.
Please help me solve this problem.

Well then...I've been working for hours trying to get my c1000A century link to work as well, same problem as you. Went through all the steps and nothing is getting blocked. Other forums post have people with the C1000a that made them work...I've tried all those as well and still no use. Frustrating!

I asked to show the complete plain text output, not just parts. The first shows only the answer part, the second is complete, the third command output is partial only, and the output from the last command is missing.
You do not have LPC enabled, or LPC is not in effect, but you do send your DNS queries to OpenDNS, see http://welcome.opendns.com/
It seems you have the OpenDNS resolver addresses directly configured on the computer, so you're using normal OpenDNS Home."seeing no filtering"
With LPC not in effect, the only thing left to do is to add a network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ to register your IP address 75.162.82.88 with it. Then you can configure your filtering settings there too. In this case don't forget to run an Updater to keep your IP address information updated at your dashboard network, else filtering and collecting stats will cease if your ISP (Qwest) changes your IP address.
However, if you ever get success with enabling LPC, then you must delete the network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ again, because your LPC dashboard is only at https://netgear.opendns.com/
Netgear LPC and OpenDNS Home cannot be used at the same time. They are not compatible. You must use the one or the other. -

Well, your outputs now confirm what I have said already, so I have nothing to add at this point of time, and you should know what to do.
I.e. you configure your dashboard at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ so that your individual settings with filtering and everything can take effect.Also, your problem seems to be pretty unrelated to the C1000A device, and I do no longer see why you would have "same problem as you (the original poster)" as you said...

Yes, your network was registered with an IP address that you weren't using, which is why you weren't getting any filtering. When you clicked on your current IP address it updated things and filtering was able to work. Since it's most likely that you are getting a dynamic address from your ISP, which *will* change from time to time you will need to run some sort of updater to keep it current or OpenDNS filtering will stop working again.

According to your outputs, yes, you have the same problem, therefore the solution is the same too.

OK, It already stopped working. When I went under settings it had two IP addresses , one highlighted with the same criss cross arrows and one below not highlighted. I selected the non highlighted one which was 71.219.38.118 instead of the 75.162.82.88 thinking it would fix the solution. Under my web content filtering it still has my blocked web site but isn't filtering it out. If I download this on the bottom of the page

Your settings take only effect if you keep your IP address information updated. You did it manually now with clicking the green arrows icon.
You may also have to flush your caches if you visited the sites before without blocking: https://support.opendns.com/entries/26336865And yes, this is the updater to keep your IP address information updated automatically.

You still continue to post in the wrong forum section. This would have been a good chance to post in another section like "Community Help".
The package you downloaded should be an installer package as you expected. If it doesn't go through the installation when double-clicking it, then it's not installed and cannot do its job. Therefore your filtering cannot work too. You can manually update the IP address information at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ though.
What do you mean by "it keeps changing"?

What I mean is that I don't want to have to manually keep going in to change the IP address by pushing the green arrows. The updater just doesn't load to instal. I go under contents and this is what is there....but nothing to install. Cant figure out what is going on.

Since you don't have a Netgear LPC, and you're sole issue, or sole remaining issue seems to be installing the Mac Updater client my suggestion would be to either start a new thread with an accurate title so that people have a better chance of looking at it, or posting to one of the already existing threads that actually has the same exact problem as you: namely installing the Mac Updater on your OSX machine
