I've configured my newly bought Netgear Nighthawk X4S D7800 and currently still playing around with the live parental controls settings.
After I created my openDNS account via Netgear Genie console, it didn't say anything if I need to do more configuration on OpenDNS.
So, long-story-short, the live parental controls I've set up on my Netgear doesn't seems to take effect; the per-device control filtering categories doesn't seem to work.
As a test, I set the default filtering settings to only block "phishing" and then, via Genie > [Network Map], I set my own laptop filtering settings to "High" ... i can still browse to pornhub.com :(
And then I realized that I did went through the OpenDNS dashboard and added my current public IP address to the settings page, which by default has the filtering set to "none": https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
So my question is, is it necessary to add my public IP info into the OpenDNS settings page if I'm using Netgear Live Parental Controls?
Thank you for your advice.
