Do I Still Need the Updater, etc?
So, I have a new NetGear c6300 with live parental control functions that can link directly to my openDNS account. Do i still need an updater client installed and add a network and check the dynamic ip etc etc? I read elsewhere that the updater is ans those other settings within the openDNS acct are only for configurations on the PC, not if you are configuring routers with the openDNS info. Can someone confirm? please advise. Thank you!

I see, you like posting duplicates!
With Netgear routers and LPC enabled you must not run an updater.
Even more, you must delete your dashboard network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
Your dashboard is only at https://netgear.opendns.com/ now."the updater is ans those other settings within the openDNS acct are only for configurations on the PC, not if you are configuring routers with the openDNS info. Can someone confirm?"
I can confirm that this information in general is wrong. An updater is neither for PC configurations, nor many routers support IP address information updates for OpenDNS. Netgear LPC is a special case. In all other cases you must run an updater. It doesn't have to be this Updater from OpenDNS but can be any other capable doing the job.
