How do I install the newest version of DNScrypt
I understand there are newer versions of the program? But where do I find them, and how do I install them?
-
All there: http://dnscrypt.org/ - the dnscrypt-proxy for download and also the installation instructions.
Please note, the DNSCrypt-proxy client is not an OpenDNS program, but the OpenDNS (and other) servers support DNSCrypt.

"I did. It is not an exe. file, and it is not clear to me as to how to install the file. I attempted the install, and am still showing v .06"
You simply need to follow what's documented on http:/dnscrypt.org/
Maybe too much? I'm compiling the essential steps for you:Do you have a Windows system? Then you go ahead like this:
- You first uninstall DNSCrypt v0.6 - totally. This cannot be "upgraded", because it is an ancient preview version only from years ago.
- Then you download the latest version from http://download.dnscrypt.org/dnscrypt-proxy/ - currently dnscrypt-proxy-win32-full-1.4.3.zip
- This ZIP archive contains the dnscrypt-proxy.exe. Extract the files from the ZIP archive into a folder of your choice.
- Now you open an elevated command prompt window and cd to the directory where you extracted the dnscrypt-proxy.exe. and follow the instructions as of https://github.com/jedisct1/dnscrypt-proxy/blob/master/README-WINDOWS.markdown (this is linked from http://dnscrypt.org/).
