Netgear Genie Device Filter levels default to "bypass login" after recent iOS Genie App Update
10/6/16 Updated my iOS Netgear Genie app today then noticed that all of the non-router default devices were indicating "bypass login". I had no bypass account and non of the "Bypassed" devices had any filtering. (Most were MEDIUM before the app update)
Netgear Genie Desktop and ioS App would not allow switch from Bypass Login to any other filter setting. Received error message: "Bypass login is active on this device, please log out bypass first".
FIX:
-Created a Bypass Login
-Using Netgear Genie App, logged into new bypass account then back out again.
- Custom or default Filter reapplied and working.
UNRESOLVED ISSUE:
-I don't know how to fix the devices that don't allow bypass login/out. (Like Amazon Kindle or TV Set)
- I thought about resetting the router to Factory Defaults but that seems a little extreme.
Any advise is appreciated.
