same problem, please fix ASAP Netgear - one of the main reasons that I bought my Nighthawk was for the parental controls which is now BROKEN!

EDIT - FYI If you can find version 2.4.38 Genie - install it and the problem is fixed.  C'mon Netgear let's get this fixed ASAP

@mkelley1961 This is not the Netgear support forum, rather it is an OpenDNS user discussion forum. It's a good place to pass on information to Netgear LPC users, but asking Netgear to fix their software issues here won't do you any good.

For that you'll need to post on the Netgear forum or open a support ticket with Netgear.

@mattwilson9090 you are correct, but I guess that I anticipated that someone from Netgear might be following this discussion, as it is labeled "Netgear Parental Controls" which does rely upon OpenDNS in order to function. Not to mention that others experiencing this issue might find the solution and complain to Netgear as well... :)

I was finally able to get NetGear to fix the issue.

There was a problem with the newest vs of the Netgear Genie app for PCs and my router (R7000). Here are the steps I took to resolve:

    1. Reached out to the NetGear Support Team: 'netgearteam@netgear.com', explaining my issue.

    2. They responded back with several questions, asking what I had tried.

    3. Once they realized I had exhausted my options, they opened a support ticket on my behalf.

    4. Soon after, they sent another email asking which day/time they should call.

    5. They called back on that date and I chose to give them remote access to my PC through TeamViewer.

    6. The final resolution (after exploring many options) was for the technician to roll back my Genie software to the previous version, and then I had to reboot my router and PC. Once I did this, Parental Controls worked as it should.

    Good luck!

Same issue on the R7000 Nighthawk.  Frustrating, has anyone resolved?  I contacted the support team as one user indicated above, but have not received a reply yet.

That's right. After spending a couple of hours on not working NetGear Genie/OpenDNS parental control I downdated my Win 10 version of Genie from 2.4.52 to 2.4.38 (uninstalled former and fresh-installed the later) and the feature is working again now.

    Here's where I found it - http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Router-Switch-Access-Point/NETGEAR/NETGEAR-Genie-Network-Control-Utility-2-4-38.shtml
