Ensure that you don't attempt to use OpenDNS Home at the same time as Live Parental Controls.  These services are incompatible.  Ensure to delete any network at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
Your LPC dashboard is only at https://netgear.opendns.com/
Your symptoms seem to indicate such an interference between LPC and OpenDNS Home.

If you have problems with the Genie app, you had to refer to Netgear, not to OpenDNS.  The router firmware and Genie app are Netgear's only, not OpenDNS'.

I cannot see at https://kb.netgear.com/25687/ that "reset the filter level" is a supported function of LPC.  Can you post a screen shot of what you mean?

It looks like that this is a problem with the iOS version of Genie, nothing to do with Live Parental Controls.  Genie is Netgear's, not OpenDNS', so you'll have to contact Netgear support.  You're at the wrong place in this forum.

Ensure that you have the latest iOS version of Genie, or try with changing the filtering level via Genie on another OS, or simply change it at https://netgear.opendns.com/

Oo my MacBook.- Folks.. I was having the same problem and i fixed it sought of. I know the cause. After firmware upgrade 2-3 days back i was not able to even login to my open dns account using genie.

Issue is that link in Genie is somehow now directing all ours (mine and yours) opendns request towards opendns.com and not netgear.opensdns.com. So, i was not able able to login to my netgear opendns account thru genie and I can go into details - but long story short genie is trying to access wrong URL of opendns to login, get your blocking settings and setting up account. your password is probably not working but when you do Forgot password it takes you to opendns site and you find that your password is correct.

Solution to the problem is: don't use Genie to access or change things on your parental control. Use browser. http://routerlogin.net

login, go to parental controls and use it.

Unless netgear resolves the issue with Genie it won't work if you just upgraded or somehow genie is using wrong URL internally.

    Thanks

To parv_singh. Thanks for your advice.

Just to clarify : when you said "Use browser. http://routerlogin.net..." do you mean we change the parental setting in the Netgear router directly - instead of through Genie or OpenDNS ?

    Thanks

Yes, this is what he meant.  You can also change the filtering level at https://netgear.opendns.com/
    It's your choice!

Oh really?  This shouldn't happen!  You should raise a support ticket with OpenDNS, link "Submit a request" above, to get the links corrected to point at netgear.opendns.com.

I see from another thread that you rose a support ticket already.  Well done!
