    DNS lookups are almost not generated by humans, but by networking programs, so you cannot know if someone tried to access a site if it appears in your OpenDNS stats.  And DNS lookups are not only raised when needed, but also just for fun, called "DNS prefetching" which is enabled by default in most nowadays browsers.

    And no, private browsing doesn't affect DNS, just history logging and caching of the browser is suppressed.  Related DNS traffic is still being logged by OpenDNS and blocked domains still being blocked by OpenDNS unless the browser uses a different DNS service, different from OpenDNS, i.e. some plug-in or add-on.
