Request to add a new Web Content Filtering category of Analytics
Hello
Your Customer Support Engineer Brett Parnell advised me to post this idea here.
I would be grateful if you could please add a new category of “Analytics” which could be populated with domains such crashlytics, appsflyer, kochava and flurry (amongst others). The reason for making this request is because I personally object to the idea of my various devices phoning home to these companies, plus specific Microsoft telemetry domains, without my knowledge or consent. I have tried adding as many analytics/telemetry-related domains to my blacklist as possible, but despite upgrading my account to allow me to block more domains, I have reached the blacklist limit and am unable to block some more domains I have recently discovered.
I genuinely believe that there are other OpenDNS users who would also like to have the option of blocking analytics-related domains if it were possible to do so. I would be more than happy to nominate the various domains I have identified for inclusion in the new category if it were created, and I imagine other users would also nominate relevant domains of which they are aware. We would then be able to use our blacklists to block domains which don’t fall under a specific category.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you require any further clarification. I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
Kind regards,
Michael

Nobody of us users can know this, but I have seen other ideas with hundreds of votes without ever having been considered. On the other hand, they seem to have more than 80 millions of users, so a few hundred is really nothing.
