unable to get back to my camera system when using opendns

    Do not configure OpenDNS on the LAN/DHCP side, but only on the WAN side. Or add entries for the internal network names to your local hosts file.

    Thanks I actually solved this by using a dyndns entry updated from my router to  point back to my network and necessary  firewall and port forwarding rules setup, works well

    its a pity I cannot point the dyndns url to update OpenDNS  dynamic ip section that would work a charm wont have to run  the dns updater then off a local machine the router then does it for me

    So, apparently it had nothing to do with OpenDNS.

    No, it's not a pity but intentional for security reasons.  And there is no "dyndns url".  You certainly meant the DynDNS hostname.

    And well, if you can send your updates from the router through DNS-O-Matic, then it's easy to update both (and even more) of your services.  That's the way to go!  You don't need another updater on a computer then.
