Using OpenDNS to Whitelist on just one computer

These are two topics, unrelated to each other.

    1. OpenDNS on just one device

"I'm attempting to set up OpenDNS for use on just one device"
"I'm not seeing a way to make only those available to just that computer and none of the other devices on the router"

No problem.  You configure the OpenDNS resolver addresses only on this one device, not on the router or other devices.  If OpenDNS is effective on all devices, then you must have configured it on the router?  Or alternatively you must take the other way around to configure non-OpenDNS DNS services on the computers where you don't want to take it effect.
    Issue solved.

    2.  Whitelist-only mode

"I also typed in all the specific pages I would like him to ONLY have access to"

That said, you're looking for a whitelist-only mode.  This feature does not come with the free service.  You must subscribe to the OpenDNS Home VIP service which comes with an optional whitelist-only mode and some other goodies, exactly as you expect it to function.
    Issue solved.

    "specific pages"

Not pages, but domain names.  Pages is something different and are out of scope for DNS, but related to web traffic.

For whatever reason, the issue with me needing it to work on only one device and it blocking all devices resolved itself. I did configure it to work on just my son's computer, but the first few times I restarted, it blocked every device, which is why I came here to ask, and it had me befuddled.

The issue with the whitelisting, I probably should have mentioned, I do have the Home VIP service, but upon trying to set up the whitelist-only mode it isn't working the way it should. I keyed in all the domains I wish it to allow, but I'm not seeing an option to "allow only these web domains" or the like, like I have seen with other services. Services, I might add, that my son can figure out how to work around, which is why I'm here subscribing to a paid service.

If the whitelist-only option is missing, it looks like that something is wrong with your account. You must open a support ticket, link “submit a request” above.

When I went to type in a support ticket, I was given options of previous questions, and someone replied 10 months ago that there was no whitelist-only feature available.

Yes, he may have had the same problem. The option is there and has to be there. Staff will be able to help.

And if you mean this article, this is related to the free service, especially to Netgear LPC, not to VIP.
