Can I filter if I am not using a Netgear router?
I used to have a Netgear router. Now I am just using the Xfinity modem/router as using both was causing issues on my network.
I thought I would not be able to use content filtering anymore, but when I logged into my OpenDNS account I saw that my current network agrees with my IP address still.
Am I still able to use the content filtering with the Xfinity router? It seems that is the case as it is recognizing my network. I tried testing it but I can't tell if the computer I am on has the bypass enabled.
When I was using the Netgear router I would set the DNS server to OpenDNS but I don't know if that can be done or is necessary on the Xfinity router.
Thanks.

You can use OpenDNS Home instead of Netgear LPC for using content filtering.
- You configure the OpenDNS resolver addresses on the router or on your end user devices.
See https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/categories/204012907
Then ensure that you use OpenDNS at http://welcome.opendns.com/ - Next you ensure that you have a network set up at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ with your IP address registered. Set your content filtering for this network as you want it.
- Don't forget to run an Updater in your network to keep your IP address information updated at OpenDNS.
- You configure the OpenDNS resolver addresses on the router or on your end user devices.
