Do not use the incompatible services OpenDNS Home and LPC in parallel.

I wasn't using them in parallel when the problem started.  I enabled the stats logging (only) on OpenDNS Home after to collect logs to show that NetFlix is being blocked by 'video sharing'.  I've deleted the network from the opendns home dashboard and NetFlix is still blocked by the 'video sharing' category in LPC.

Whomever manages the categories needs to review the 'video sharing' category and clear NetFlix.

I understand you have raised a support ticket.  OpenDNS manage the categories, and you have to wait for their response.

In case you did not raise a support ticket, do so now, link "Submit a request" above.

...and good luck with getting any support. I've been waiting 17 days for support to answer my ticket, and I have a paid subscription to OpenDNS.

I also found Netflix has been blocked by the video sharing category and had to add the domains to my whitelist. It's only happening when I use the Netflix app on an Xbox (all consoles), Netflix will play normally on an Android device.
But, support won't answer my ticket, so I have to whitelist it in order to get it to work. I've had OpenDNS for several years and it's never blocked it before in that category.

    Hi utalice,

thank you for confirming the issue.  We both have the same problem :-)

I've been using NetGear LPC for a couple of years and it worked fine until a month or so ago.

Sorry to hear you are paying for this bad service :-)

I noticed it about a month ago, too. I had watched Netflix before I went to bed the night before and the next morning it wouldn't play until I whitelisted the servers. Nothing had changed on my end that I know of. I had checked to see if the IP address on my Dashboard matched my present address. Weird that it would work on Android but not the Xbox unless I bypassed my router (which uses OpenDNS settings), which to me - would indicate that it had something to do with how Netflix servers are accessed using the Xbox. I was checking Netflix on both Android and Xbox at exactly the same time after clearing my cache on the Xbox.

Yeah, I think this will be the last year that I stay with OpenDNS. Their customer support has been lacking since the beginning of the year. I had paid for my yearly subscription in advance last spring and noticed one day in June that I was still marked as a Basic customer instead of a VIP. It took over a week to resolve that. They didn't even bother to let me know that it had been fixed. They didn't even offer to give me credit for the 3 months that I had paid for, but was still marked as a free service, I had to ask for it. Of course, you cannot contact anyone in billing by phone. The number they give you with your invoice has been disconnected.

The most recent problem - I opened my ticket 4 days shy of a month today and I've only received one reply from support and that was almost 3 weeks ago.  About a week after I had opened my original ticket and couldn't get a reply I opened a new ticket asking why I can't get my first ticket answered. They replied to my first ticket about a half an hour later, but didn't resolve my issue so I asked more info/questions but still haven't received a reply since Nov. 7th. I opened another new ticket yesterday morning and they read it within 9 hours, merged it with my original ticket, but didn't reply to the original ticket - and never answered my question as to why I can't get a ticket answered. It's just bonkers. I've already contacted customer support for a new DNS service and they answered my ticket in about 15 minutes. They're more expensive, but I'll pay more for quality service.
