Setting up dynamic dns on Actiontec C3000A router

I'm trying to set up my Actiontec C3000A router to update OpenDNS.

The router has the following Dynamic DNS Types:

Disable
DynDNS
No-IP
Custom

Under custom, it asks for:
Dynamic DNS Server
Request
Username/password
Hostname

I have tried entering https://updates.opendns.com/nic/update?hostname=<myHostName> for the "Dynamic DNS Server", and my OpenDNS username/password. The router does not like the username supplied (invalid username).

 

I have also tried using DNS-O-Matic. Using this, the modem does not like the password.

Can someone please help me get this working?

  Try with replacing @ by %40 in your e-mail address. Also, I do not think that the whole update URL goes into the Dynamic DNS Server field, but parts of it may need to go into Request, and the network label may go into Hostname. Only Actiontec can finally know how to configure this.
