My router dns and home network run through opendns and all works as expected. Normally, I bypass OpenDNS with PureVPN. They are clueless as to why beginning last week, I see these odd behaviors on both computers, one a Mac, the other Win7:
A video discussion site liveleak.com normally not blocked by OpenDNS is now flagged by Firefox and Chrome as a potential security risk when the vpn is active because the cert for the video discussion site has been replaced by one from OpenDNS! "Cisco Umbrella Secondary SubCA fra-SG"
Odder is that if I connect to Austria, this behavior goes away. If I connect to Netherlands, it comes back.
I removed and reset firefox after fresh install. What is confusing is how come Liveleak works fine while I have opendsn set in my router, but if I invoke PureVPN to some countries, somehow opendns gets in the way.
As I said, the fine people at Purevpn have no idea how their own infrastructure works, so I am hoping to get a clue from here. DNS over HTTPS is not enabled in firefox.
