I have attempted to get OpenDNS up and running for my household network.
I've installed OpenDNS Updater. It shows my IP address or at least what I think my IP address is.
I registered with the IP address shown in the Updater with /16 CIDR. It has been pending review for a week now.
My concern is that it will likely get rejected because my IP address is going to change as my Cable Modem and router occasionally get turned off.
I would like to send to OpenDNS my exposed IP address on the internet of my router or how my ISP exposes/provides my IP address for all computers in my household behind the router. I'm not entirely convinced the IP address o
I have not configured my router to manually assign specific MAC Ids to specific IP Addresses on 192.168.0.xxx etc. Is this necessary?
with a /16 CIDR this is not the full range of 256 addresses on 192.168.0.1 I could use.
Any help or suggestion much appreciated.
