of course also disabling parental controls fixes the app connectivity, but that's not what i want to do ...

You visit https://dashboard.opendns.com/stats/all/blockeddomains to find the domains you need to whitelist.

Oops, sorry, with Netgear LPC you don’t have stats. You must find out by other means.

Thanks - I do not have stats and since the issue is only with the iOS Apps it's hard to guess what gets blocked.

In any case blocking a Google service with my moderate filtering seems just a mistake on OpenDNS

If nothing can help, temporarily disable LPC and use OpenDNS Home instead.  This will provide you with stats and logs.

    thanks rotblitz

I had a look at my whitelist and I already had google.com whitelisted

I don't know any other way to force my home LAN to go through openDNS servers besides setting the DNS servers on the Netgear router - which is what parental controls do.

You must disable LPC before.  Your OpenDNS dashboard is at https://dashboard.opendns.com/

Genie app says I have disabled parental controls, but once I entered the DNS servers in the router's webUI that displays PC as enabled. Though it should not know the password without Genie involvement.

In any case I suppose it will take time before stats can be visible ?

"once I entered the DNS servers in the router's webUI that displays PC as enabled"

That should not be the case and smells like a router firmware bug.

Stats in OpenDNS Home are not real-time.  The first time it takes 24 hours to appear, going further it takes 1-3 hours to appear.

notes-pa.googleapis.com is blocked as a phishing site which stops the Google Keep iOS app working.

thanks simon_taylor whitelisting googleapis.com did the trick

unfortunately as of now the dashboard was only able to show total requests not yet blocked domains, so your tip was very welcome

    thanks rotblitz

BTW although the dashboard has a link to submit tickets, I don't seem to have visibility into open tickets, so I can't tell whether something is a known issue or not

You can see only your own tickets or tickets where you are on CC.

The ticket has been actioned, and notes-pa.googleapis.com is no longer blocked.
