Is there a way to capture data usage (packets) by domain?  

 

My ISP claims substantial data usage, more than I think is probable.

  You install a packet sniffer on your computer to collect statistics about your traffic.

  OpenDNS is - as the name says - a DNS service which has no relationship to data usage at all.  DNS is the phone book of the internet, not the phone lines.
