How to update root address of domain on Cloudflare with Dynamic IP

    You use CloudFlare‘s root domain flattening and create a CNAME for the root domain, as you said. You update the target subdomain. This is recommended. Not sure why you think it is not.

    rotblitz I have seen the option in CloudFlare to do CNAME Flattening, but this is not really as per the DNS Standard specification. See this article or this one.

    Since this is not really the best approach, I'm hoping there's a way to update the root address directly with DNS-O-Matic. Is that something that DNS-O-Matic does not support?

    The articles are meaningless as Flattening has overcome it, because it makes it compliant with the DNS specs.  And Flattening is not an option, but a feature.

    DNS-O-Matic supports this one method only. There is no need for anything else, because it works as supposed.
