How often is DNSOMATIC run
I have looked and searched but I cannot see how often my dnsomatic software is run. I cannot seem to see this info on any documentation, or have missed it.
Can someone tell me how often it is run. every day, hour , 5 Min. ??
Thank you.

Yes it does make a difference. It says checked, but it was me who did the update by clicking the update now button.
The reason I asked was because dnsomatic site was emailing me with errors, that would have been fixed it it had updated automatically which it did not seem to be doing. If as you say it is every minute it wasnt updating it. Once I did a manual update in the app it worked fine. So I was wondering if it was just that it had not updated on its regular schedule but if it is suppose to occur every minute, its odd that it did not work automatically?
I also know that some sites don't like you checking all the time. Obviously this is different. Every minute surprises me but, I'm no expert and happy to have it check all the time if that ok with them.
For example I have a script that checks my dns name to ip every hour. Which is good enough for me.
Why do I use it ?
I use dnsomatic, I hope for the reason it was intended. That is to update Opendns with my current ip address so that my various categories are maintained as far as what I want to block in my OpenDNS settings.
Your question, infers there might be a better way, am I wrong?

DNS-O-Matic is to update multiple services from one update client. If you have only OpenDNS as service update, you better update it directly while unchecking the option “Send DNS-O-Matic updates”.
Does http://diagnostic.opendns.com/myip show your IPv4 address?

I don't understand what you mean to directly update OpenDNS. Let me tell you what I think your telling me to do.
Continue using the Opendns updater software, but turn off the send DNS0matic updates.
I may have some confusion between dnsomatic and opendns functions. I mean I understand OpenDNS, but perhaps the DNS0matic is confusing me. It sounds to me that I really dont need any of it.
However I have tried to set up on the dnsomatic site with my DNS provider. eg Duckdns.org. I have filled out the various fields which I'm relatively confident are right but it says waiting for first update. I sort of thought this would do the trick. But it does not seem to do anything and sits there with "waiting for first update." Shouldnt the Above checkbox you mentioned update duckdns.org if my ip changes.
It seems I'm confused and mixed up.
Please advise.

The OpenDNS Updater just updates the OpenDNS service dashboard, no matter if it goes through DNS-O-Matic or not. If you want to update one or more different DDNS services, you must use a different Updater.

“Continue using the Opendns updater software, but turn off the send DNS0matic updates.”
Yes, this is what you could do to update OpenDNS directly, not via DNS-O-Matic.
Still missing your answer to: Does http://diagnostic.opendns.com/myip show your IPv4 address?
